GEO A Dallas Museum of Art

The largest museum in the state of Texas, the Dallas Museum of Art features one of the most well-rounded encyclopedic collections in the country. Call your friends and family to explore the museum at 1717 N Harwood St, Dallas, TX 75201. The DMA is free and open to all, with special exhibitions typically costing $10-$15 for adults and $5 for students or seniors. You can explore more than 70 galleries that range from contemporary art to ancient artifacts from all over Asia and Europe. And if you want to see a work by Picasso or Warhol without paying a fortune, we have a secret for you: many works are on display for free every Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., only in the year when the DMA is closed to the general public (i.e., during the winter holidays). Luckily, there are some ways you can get into this powerhouse without spending thousands of dollars or waiting until it’s open on weekends again.

Dallas Museum of Art Hours, Admission and Cost

The Dallas Museum of Art is a free and open to the public museum, offering special exhibitions for a fee. However, it is also free every Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can also enter the museum at any time with a valid ID. If you want to go during the week, you can go as many times as you like with a single ticket, but you can only return with your ticket after 9 a.m. on the following day. Don’t wait until the DMA is open

If you want to go before visiting the museum, you can visit the website or call the museum. There are also a few events they will announce online before they happen, so you can find out if there’s something happening when you want to visit. If you want to go on a specific day or weekend, you can go online and use the “Special Events” tab to see if anything is happening on that day. As a general rule, the museum is open on the weekends during the summer and the spring and fall, but check the website for specific dates.

Become a member

If you have a little bit more money than a member, you can become a member. This costs $65 for adults and $55 for students and seniors. However, it is cheaper than the general admission and is only for one person. You can become a member online or at the box office. The benefits of being a member are that you can go in on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (open to members and nonmembers alike), receive priority entrance during special events, and get one free ticket to any special event in the future. If you want to become a member before you go to the museum, you can do so online. If you want to become a member after you visit, you can do so at the box office.

Attend an event or lecture at the DMA

If you are not one to visit the museum, but want to contribute to the arts in Dallas, there are several events you can attend at the museum. Or if racing is more your style, visit this attraction in Forney. The Dallas Museum of Art hosts several events and lectures throughout the year. Some of these may be more expensive than the general admission, but a lot of them are included with membership, so you may not have to pay extra. There are several membership benefits we mentioned above, and if you aren’t a member, attending some of these events may be cheaper than the general admission.
